Six years ago, we went to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC. I loved this purple-berried plant the moment I saw it. Finally, this summer, I brought home one of my own.
I saw one at the zoo that was bigger than I was and now I’m longing for the day mine gets as big. Yep, just can’t be satisfied. But what a great splotch of color at the end of autumn!

I had one of these at the Ballard house. One week after I had it in the ground, all the leaves fell off. Guess that's supposed to happen, but I was sure I killed it! They are a great plant.
