All Fools' Parade

Woodinville's birthday is April 1, and every year, on the Saturday before April Fools' Day, the city hosts a local parade, Bassett hound events, and a food and arts fair. Our family marched (meandered) with our church to advertise our VBS program. Afterwards, we got an elephant ear and watched the rest of the parade go by. Kyla got a Liberty visor to complete her weary countenance. A good, dry time was had by all.

Kyla and friends

We can never lose Teddy or Dolly, because I haven't been able to find replacements for either. Kyla is wearing the robe that better fits Piper, but she got it into her head that she wanted to wear it (Superwoman?) one afternooon.

Hard to tell apart

Same outfit, but Kyla is in the laundry basket, smiling, at 10.5 weeks old. Piper is 5.5 weeks old, and is now growing out of her newborn clothes and into her "big girl" (0-3 month) outfits.

Lionized

A moment to brag about my husband:
Dwayne (with friends) built and poured this stairset in our backyard the first summer we moved here. During his month off after Piper was born, he was able to start the finishing work on it, beginning with the banister. He's always wanted lions on top of columns and, as you can see, he pulled the look off beautifully!

Great-Grandma meets Piper

Denise's dad's mom is the only great-grandparent the girls have, and Grandma is very excited about having a fourth generation. Here she gets to meet Piper (about 5.5 weeks old) for the first time. Kyla is just about to turn 19 months.

Easter Eggs!

Piper seems to enjoy watching Kyla dye herself and eggs. The video gives a bettter idea of Kyla's innate genius for this sort of thing.

Finally--She likes books!

I despaired over this last year that Kyla would always slam a book shut and run away whenever I tried to read to her. With a gentle nudge from Gramma K, Kyla really loves our reading time now! Mama is ecstatic.

Another guessing game...

One is Kyla at 5 weeks; the other, Piper at 3 weeks.
(See previous post for answer.)

Family Day at the Zoo

Dwayne and I took the girls to Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. I pride myself that I am able to walk around the zoo while nursing Piper. Dwayne got to chase Kyla. Being the girl that she is, Kyla does not stand for the sedentary nature of a stroller ride for long. The toddler leash was a good investment....

(Guessing game: Kyla is wearing the blue dress.)
