Playgroup

Our playgroup has one key member—Susanne.  Susanne has the best camera of all of us and almost always remembers to bring it.  If I have my camera, I just leave it in the diaper bag and grab Sus’s instead.  So occasionally, I dump her pictures onto my computer and start sorting them out.

We went to Bothell Country Village last September on a perfect back-to-school autumn day.  Check out this great toys—just perfect for my monkeys.

It’s an old-fashioned merry-go-round with carousel horses mounted on springs! (My girls are easy to spot in their orange shirts.  That’s no accident!)

Yep, the merry-go-round is moving while Piper attempts her climb.  I’m the one taking photos.

Now that he can’t be so easily contained, I don’t get many shots like this anymore.

And this might be my favorite.  You can’t even see Kyla’s face, but she radiates happiness.  She’s with her best friend, Isaac. They’re on top of the pirate ship’s mast.  Yeah, this park is pretty fun.

Our group just got together for a Saturday night dinner, too, since the husbands don’t really ever get to meet up.  Fortunately, all of us ladies married geeks so they always have plenty to talk about when we get together.

I weighed this boy on our home scale today and fully-clothed, with a cloth diaper, he came in at 19 pounds—significantly up from the 17-2 he was at just 3 weeks ago!  That butter i& cheese s really paying off!

Our friend has lots of dress up clothes.

So many that we had a fashion show!  I participated and the kids helped me get ready.

How’s this for a non-compliment?  Piper wanted to wear the green wig so she could “be green monster”, too.  Thanks, Pipes.

I include this picture, not just because it’s a cute Mabel silly face, but to show that if you look behind her and squint slightly, I actually look pretty good.  I point this out because I made an effort that night to look good, “fashion monster” notwithstanding.  My actual goal is to make my husband gasp, “Who’s that hottie—oh, it’s my WIFE!”  I’ve got a little further to go, though.

[PS Did you know that spell check suggests changing “hottie” to “hogtie”?  That was not the image I wanted to be left with.]
