I had a coupon for a family afternoon of bowling that I had to use before it expired. So on one of the hottest days of this summer, we hid out from the sun and went bowling.
This is a 3-picture snapshot of how it went:
1. Trudging to the lane with a 6-pound ball (all three used it—it was the lightest they had).
2. Cheering for one’s self when the ball left one’s hands.
3. Then waiting…waiting…waiting…for the ball to eventually make its way toward the pins.
Piper actually had the most accurate shot most often—hitting the pins straight on middle—and usually managed to knock over only 3 or 4 pins with the lack of momentum.
Wesley was thrilled with being able to throw a big heavy ball down, hear “THUNK”, and eventually see something being knocked over. Might this be the pinnacle of his life?
“Oh, yeah, I’m bad. I’m bad!”
Daddy got a strike in the 10th round, pulling him ahead of Kyla by 4 points.
Mama won, but by the most unimpressive score (96 points). And I was using the bumpers.
Our coupon deal included two hours of bowling, but just one game took an hour and a half and wore us all out.
