Kyla has a fantastic CD from the library called Wee Sing Dinosaurs. She can tell you lots about the subject just from listening to this over and over again.
When she first listened to it, she came out of her bedroom calling, “Mama, Mama! Did you know there’s a KYLASAURUS?” Well, I didn’t know. The song is actually about ankylosaurus (a plant eater with lots of armor), but it does sound like “a kylasaurus” when it is sung.
Kyla was very taken with this and loves to be called Kylasaurus. She is even learning to spell this new name. She came out wearing her too-small pink pajamas, a pink tutu, and angel wings and explained to me how this was her scaly armor to keep meat-eaters from eating her up. It was hard for this carnivore not to eat her up—she was SO cute!
The Kylasaurus has many natural habitats. Getting dirty is good, but so is ballet.
Kylasauruses also feel at home in the water.
And in high places….
The other day, she announced that the reason we can’t see God is because God must eat air, because he doesn’t really need regular food.
We’ll keep this Kylasaurus.
