Film Festival Highlights

The lack of clarity on the camera's video mode matches perfectly my lack of talent. However, here are a few "outtakes" of the girls on laundry day.

"I Do All My Own Stunts"...

...declares Kyla's T-shirt. Here, she proves that by riding the whale at the Alderwood indoor playground. I often get comments: "How old is your daughter?" "Is she going to be okay?" "She's fearless, isn't she?" It's usually the dads who are most concerned. Often, I hear the underlying message, "Are you sure she should be doing that?" Yeah, Kyla is fine. In fact, I love her fearlessness and am quite content to step out of her way and let her be who she is.

Kyla shares a soda

So, technically, it's an orange juice, and it's not so much sharing as fighting for dominance, but Isaac and Kyla are having a picture-worthy moment.

(Thanks to Susanne, Isaac's mother, who took the shot.)

Ode to Piper

Piper and I visited Chiara, born exactly 2 months after Piper. Chiara is almost 2 weeks old--look at the difference in size! I was able to capture some great Piper expressions.

Dwayne took a cute picture of her feet. She's got months to go before these particular appendages become useful.

And lastly, Piper was tired of being in the middle of the second row and wanted to be in the driver's seat. She soon learned that not having a lot of head control is almost as detrimental as not being able to reach the pedals.

Piper Laughed!

Last night, Piper, who at 11pm should have been sleeping, broke out into baby giggles. Twice! My heart melted. I cooed, trying to get her to do it one more time. Dwayne briefly feigned interest and then rolled over to read his computer magazine again.

Here is a short video of her smiling. I took it "portrait" view and then switched it to "landscape." She is in one of my favorite pictures spots--the laundry basket.
