Piper Laughed!

On a leash
When Karen--a friend and neighbor who stayed with Kyla the night Piper was born--and I took the girls to the Seattle Art Museum, I put Kyla on her teddy bear leash. That afternoon, she wanted to wear it again, but this time, she wanted to hold the leash! Kyla is very much into the "I do it myself" stage.
She may have gotten into this from our recent walks with Karen and her dog, Callie. Piper outweighs Callie by quite a bit, so she's just the right size for Kyla to "walk." Karen gives Kyla the leash, and as both the dog and the toddler have similar attention spans, it seems to work well!
Kyla The Cheese
I know this drives most of the world crazy, but I really get a kick out of Kyla's messiness. She loves cheese in all forms and is particularly mad about mac-n-cheese. It is clearly plate-licking good!

Basket Head
Kyla's bedtime is 8pm, but being in a twin bed (coupled with her fearless climbing abilities), she does not stay snuggled safe under her blankets for long. Now before I go to bed every night, I pick her up from wherever sleep overcame her and tuck her back into bed. This particular night, I found her resting her head in a laundry basket.

Playgroup
When Kyla was just a few months old, we met other new moms with babies born around the same time. We still get together every Friday to play. Kyla has been known to out-rough&tumble even Isaac (red-head cutie) and Jacob (dark-haired cutie). Susanne (aka Isaac's Mommy) is holding Anna, whose house we are playing at.
Cute Couple
Uncle Keith & Aunt Julie get more than their fair share of second glances, but, in my quite biased opinion, they pale in comparison with the cutie in the middle!
Piper is 8 weeks old here.

The revenge of April Fools
So the week of March 29- April 5 was the eventful week you never want to have:
*Dwayne's car was in the shop for 6 days.
*Half the lights in the basement suddenly stopped working, as well as the outside lights and random upstairs outlets.
*The toilet overflowed, flooding the upstairs bathroom, the downstairs bathroom and seeping in the the laundry room.
*That made us realized that the pipe going into the toilet was leaking.
*After days of snow and rain, our roof (again) started leaking, and now has completely ruined the wood trim around the living room windows.
*Smokey the (Undead) Cat pooped, peed, and/or vomited everyday somewhere in the house. I am currently trying to find a new home for her.
But (except for Smokey) we have been in excellent health, and Grandma Kruger came up one day last week and helped me reorganize the troops.
